Digital Media and Communications Intern
Job Description: Utah Classical Guitar is looking for HIGHLY MOTIVATED, SOCIALLY CONSCIOUS undergraduate, graduate students or recent graduates interested in gaining insight and experience in non-profit communications. Interns will have the opportunity to experience the nonprofit world and gain experience building their resume in a creative non-profit organization that offers flexibility and possible remote work options. Must be passionate about classical guitar, music education and community outreach.
Number of positions available: 2
Compensation: Unpaid, Class credit may be available (student must check with their university).
Schedule: Approx. 10-15 hrs/ week. Hours can be flexible to accommodate a student schedule.
Location: Salt Lake City

What we are looking for:
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail
Strong internet research skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and switch gears quickly
Must be dependable, independent thinker, proactive, energetic
Strong knowledge of MS office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Strong layout skills, solid proficiency with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
Assist in creating and managing communications calendar
Identify and assist in developing media opportunities and maintain and update media contact lists and media kit
Assist in creating and distributing email communications, e-newsletters, event promotions, other emails as needed
Help build and maintain organizations presence on social media and understand best practices
Web design knowledge a plus to help to ensure content is current and user-friendly
Create and collect new visual content for development and communications purposes, including documenting after-school programs by taking pictures, etc. (for website, blog, newsletters, social media, etc.)
Requirements:
Prefer graduate student or undergraduate junior or senior (although not required) in good standing
Must be able to commit to required hours, however, there is great flexibility for students
